DC Fashion Week

This week has been full of great shows, clothes, accessories, and people. I absolutely love working DC Fashion Week!!! I love how fast pace it is backstage with models and designers running everywhere making sure everything is in order. I think its so much fun having international designers show their collections and see a part of their culture. Lets not forget to mention seeing all the show attendees and their outfits. It gives me so much inspiration for my outfits.

Here are a few pictures from backstage, show preparations, and a few runway shots. I will post more runway shots after they have been posted online. I can say even after my 3rd season working with DC Fashion Week I have yet to actually see the show. I just make sure the models are dressed and out on time. Its a pretty even trade if you ask me!

I thought these two ladies were the best dressed at the event! I am obssessed with color blocking and mono chromatic!

Color Blocking

Jacket, shirt, shoes- Nordstrom Pants- TJMaxx Belt- Betsey Johnson Necklace- H&M

Color blocking is a current love of mine!!! Sadly my picture is showing these pants in a strange shade they are more of a burnt orange instead of brick red. I'm still trying to get a hang of the whole blogging thing!!! But this outfit was a lot of fun!! I love how vibrant every piece is and I am definitely planning on doing more with color blocking especially for the spring!!!!

Have you guys noticed all the neon's being shown for spring?? They are 100% calling my name!!! I have a neon skirt I saw here on the way to my front door and I can hardly wait!!!

Well everyone have a good weekend and try color blocking for yourself!! You may fall in love the same way I have!! You will definitely see more color blocking posts in the near future!!

A Blah Kind of Week

This has been a rough week for me so far; Happy Hump Day, by the way! Probably because I have been thinking it is Thursday everyday this week. The sad part is it's not going to look up until after DCFashion Week (Forgot to mention I'm involved in working the shows.) Its going to be so crazy!! But that good kind of crazy where you are so busy and exhausted but the craziness back stage is so exciting. On top of my blah mood this whole week my inspiration has been unavailable. My outfits are so pitiful ; seriously leggings, tshirts, sweaters just plain boring. I'm hoping my inspiration comes in time for the shows next week!! Wish me luck!!

I saw this picture today and it really made me smile!!!! I hope it can bring you a little inspiration!! Maybe if I stare at it long enough I will get some too!! You can check out other pictures on my inspiration board here.
Until Next Time!

MAC Attack

MAC launched their new collection Shop MAC Cook Mac today. I had the pleasure to peruse the entire collection this morning and I was so excited to see that they have four new lip BALMS. I have not seen this offered at MAC before so that was exciting for me. I usually am not a MAC girl due to the fact that I have disgustingly sensitive skin and everything breaks me out. But I can use the lip products and love them. For me, the only con with MAC lip products, that I have found, is that I eat it off way too fast. Fortunately for me the lip balm stayed on for a really long time.

Here are a few piece of the collection!!!! My two favorites are Purring Tendertone Lipbalm and Play Day nail polish. You have got the check it out for yourself!!! It's amazing!!!

Alexander McQueen Inspiration

I have seen this photo of Alexander McQueen and Sarah Jessica Parker many times before and I just love how McQueen mixed the sweetness of a sheer fabric with the ruggedness of red plaid!!! It's perfect and Sarah looks so amazing in the combination!!

Shirt- who knows its super old Skirt- Nordstrom Bag- Pour la Victoire Shoes- Report Necklace- Nordstrom Belt- Forever21

My outfit was inspired by McQueen's look. I love this plaid shirt! Believe it or not I have had this same exact shirt since I was 10!! (I hated it then) I just roll the sleeves and wear it all the time; another fall staple shirt. I thought mixing it with the black chiffon would give a urbanspin on a masculine looking shirt.

What do you think?
